Tantalise your musical tastebuds with a varied programme brought to you by talented local artists and professional musicians, from jazz to classical, woodwind to strings and a generous helping of fine vocals.
The Cramphorn Foyer offers drinks and bar snacks.

January 8th - Pianist, Catherine Leonard returns to the Cramphorn Theatre to perform a programme including works by Schubert. 

January 15th - New pieces from 'local' creators, featuring the work of Mike Haley, Tim Eaton and Ken Hay.

January 22nd – Beautiful, atmospheric folk and acoustic songs from local trio, Revival

January 29th - The Daisy Bowlers bring their natural banter, real wooden strung instruments who have stories of their own, sweet vocal harmonies, lyrics to make you laugh and cry and mellifluent voices that carry the tune on its way.

February 5th - Young musicians from Chelmsford County High School for Girls offer a programme of ensemble music and ‘A’ level recital pieces.

February 19th - Making it up! Rachel Coe and Jeffery Wilson improvise their way through some Klezmer, African, Indian and modal music.

February 26th - A musical dramatisation of Thomas Hardy’s novel Tess of the D’Urbervilles for Soprano and Piano, by Derek Rodgers. It tells the tragic story as seen through Tess’s eyes. Follow Tess from her first sighting of Angel Clare at the Marlott May Dance, to her time working for and being seduced by the shameful Alec D’Urberville. Watch her fall in love at Talbothay’s Dairy only to end up working in the desolate Flint-Coomb Ash. See how Tess braves each hardship and eventually comes to peace with herself in the final haunting scene.

March 4th - Cross Harmonies, the programme will feature a selection of dances and a variety of solo items and styles. Beware - Danse Macabre!!

March 25th - The Environ Music Group returns to the Cramphorn Theatre with a variety of music including original works by local composers.

April 1st - Junior Guildhall Artists  Students of Jeffery Wilson (Coordinator of Composition at Junior Guildhall) visit the theatre for the first time to offer some ‘live’ improvisation and a taste of their own original music.

April 15th  - T.V. Dinner! A feast of film and television music, together with a few "wireless" favourites.  Nicola Bishop - oboe, Penny Rich - clarinet, Jeffery Wilson - piano.

April 22nd  - Jazz Chat With Jeffery Wilson and invited friends, including the welcome return of Mr Peter Marshall. Expect some happy banter and some ‘cooking’ music!
